Race Classes

 

Tour du Teche III Race Classes
October 5, 6, & 7, 2012


RACING DIVISION


Class A (Fourre Tout – Catch All)
Limited to a maximum of four (4) paddlers in the boat. There shall be no specification as to the type or size of the craft
used except that such craft must be propelled only by human muscle power, can be paddled using single and/or double
blade. This class consists of all those boats which, for one reason or another, (double blades, rudders, number of
paddlers, etc.) do not fit into any of the other classes.


Class B (Solo Double Blade Paddle)

Open or closed deck, rudder or no rudder, length unlimited, limited to one paddler, double blade only.


Class C (Tandem Double Blade Paddle)

Open or closed deck, rudder or no rudder, length unlimited, limited to two paddlers, double blade only.


Class D (Solo Single Blade Paddle)
Limited to one paddler, single blade paddles only. No rudders allowed.


Class E (Tandem Single Blade Paddle)

Limited to two paddlers, single blade paddles only. No rudders allowed.


Class F (USCA C2)
All two person canoes that can race at the USCA nationals and that include the following boat specifications: 3X27 (Pro-
Boat), 4X32 (USCA cruiser), and USCA Standard C2.



VOYAGEUR DIVISION


Class G (Fourre Tout – Catch All)

Class H (Solo Double Blade Paddle)
Open or closed deck, rudder or no rudder, max length 18’, limited to one paddler, double blade only.


Class I (Tandem Double Blade Paddle)

Open or closed deck, rudder or no rudder, max length 18’, limited to two paddlers, double blade only.


Class J (Solo Single Blade Paddle)

Limited to one paddler, single blade paddles only, max length 19’, no rudders allowed.


Class K (Tandem Single Blade Paddle)

Limited to two paddlers, single blade paddles only, max length 19’, no rudders allowed.


Class L (Solo Pirogue)
Limited to one paddler, single blade only. Must have sufficient buoyancy if boat were to capsize. Must be flat bottomed
with hard chines. No rudders allowed.


Class M (Tandem Pirogue)

Limited to two paddlers, single blade only. Must have sufficient buoyancy if boat were to capsize. Must be flat bottomed
with hard chines. No rudders allowed.


Class N (Pedal Drive)
Solo or tandem. All pedal drive boats, can be paddled with single or double blade and/or pedaled. Rudder or no rudder.

Limited to racing division classes A – F and voyageur division classes G – N.


Race 2: Crawfish
Port Barre, LA to Breaux Bridge, LA · 34 miles
Limited to voyageur division classes G – N.


Race 3: Acadian

Port Barre, LA to St. Martinville, LA · 49 miles
Limited to voyageur division classes G – N.


Race 4: Hot Sauce
St. Martinville, LA to New Iberia, LA · 24 miles
Limited to voyageur division classes G – N.


Race 5: Sugar

St. Martinville, LA to Franklin, LA · 59 miles
Limited to voyageur division classes G – N.


Race 6: Oil & Gas

Franklin, LA to Berwick, LA · 27 miles
Limited to voyageur division classes G – N.
