Bayou cleanup in Parks
News - T.E.C.H.E. Project
The next bayou cleanup is scheduled for May 19 in Parks from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We'll meet at the boat launch in Parks. Boats are needed, but all volunteers are welcome. Bring gloves. Water and trash bags will be provided.

 
Cajuns for Bayou Teche on E-Town

Public radio program E-Town will soon re-air the show on which Cajuns for Bayou Teche organizer Blake Couvillion was honored with an "E-chievement Award."  The E-Chievement Award is presented to citizens involved in grassroots efforts to improve their communities. The re-broadcast will air between  5/9/12 - 5/15/12. Keep your ears open. E-Town airs on KRVS in Lafayette at noon on Tuesdays.

 

 
Introducing the Great Bayou Teche Dog Paddle

Bayou Teche, La. – Tour du Teche is proud to announce the addition of the Great Bayou Teche Dog Paddle on April 22, 2012.

Registration is open now until April 22, at 8 a.m. The event will begin with sign in between 7 and 8 a.m., a safety talk at 8:15 a.m. and boats will begin launching at 8:30 a.m.

Bayou Teche hiking trail re-opens in St. Mary

The Palmetto Trail has re-opened to the public after a brief closure for hunting seasion.
The 2.5-mile hiking trail is just off of U.S. 90 near Franklin in the Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge.
